just like a one winged dove.....
kay that song has been stuck in my head alllll day, good ol' stevie.
now let's get down to buisness.
one picture that i wish i took but never did?
this is the worst subject to write on ever, but i am going to try.
when i was in california earlier this term i was so excited to go take pictures down there... when i arrived i noticed i forgot one little detail to my photography packing this would be my tripod...
as you know i am glued to my tripod (which worries me still but slade said it was cool). anyway. the whole time i was there i was beating myself up because everywhere that i looked there was a perrrrfect shot waiting for me and yes for my camera because everytime i take a picture withought that thing it turns out to be garabage. as i was on my vacation wishing i had my buddy tripod i was walking down melrose avenue one day going to my favorite store on the whole stip-spoty l.a. it has every possible tennis shoe known to man in every different color under the rainbow, its A H MAZING. as i continued to walk. there was this man on the street rapping and for all i know he sounded amazing. he looked the part. a man who's been through a lot, wrinkley skin, beat up clothes, skinny. he was rapping about his living status and right behind the wall he was sitting by was a mural it covered the whole wall and it said free city with all these way tight colors i thought at that moment i would love to get the man ongoing rapping with the wall right behind him. i wish i could have taken the picture beause as you have noticed in my past blogs that i am very into the whole inner city/ghetto/city life. and taking this picture would be awsome because for how much i enjoy looking at that type of photography i could actually take it myself.
although i didnt take one picture while i was there it taught me something. that always to pack my tripod duh. and everywhere you go there is an oppurtunity too take some really great pictures. it also taught me that i would love to round myself as i continue my study in photography. to change things up. right now im doing all my photos in like the same place. im going to try next term and from now on to find some differnent locations because i want to see how my work is when there is other surroundings... if its good or bad in different places would really help me grow i think. and that is what i am going to try to take from this assignment and apply it to the future.

eanst haas

earnest haas.
there is a specific reason i like this photo so much. yeah sure the lighting is nice. and i love the backround its awsome. but my grandpa was in the navy and seeing that hat and the uniform remind me of him. he always used to ttell me stories of the navy and all his adventures, and he always had his uniform hat in the dashboard of his car. it seemed when he was in the navy he accomplished so much and grew as a person, when i see this man i wonder what stories he has to tell... i think that is an important componant when we take portraits now that i think of it that's exactly what slade said to doo....hahah so it must be double important. but i definatley love this picture one of my favorites for sure.
mark doyle.

mark mark mark.
this photo was taken by mark doyle.
as i continue my search for photos i like, i stumbled across this one. yet it is so plain, simple, and doesnt even look like this weas suded for art...and that is what i liked about it. this picture is boring yeah sure admit it but that is why i love it you can take something so simple and nothing to build the picture and that makes people stop and is like is that even supposted to be along with this artist's other work? thats what it made me did.... i also like the light is very intense it makes the color bright, im only used to seeing cinemas at night.....

final project.

well thank goodnesss that is over...
sike.
well this is the end of our ter in digital and these are the shot that should have summed up my whole term.
yes i do like them a lot and i think they hold some interesting points that i have picked up over the past couple months...
first of all lets talk about my project. well i was having so brain cramps thinking about what to shoot for my final then i realized the perfect subject is shoes! i own so many of them it wouldnt be hard to find some to shoot. as i got ready for my assignment i becan shooting all kinds of shooes in the boring sort of here is a boring shoe kind of way. then i remembered when i did a science fair project that i was only alowed one variable. as i started to look at my photos they all didnt look uniform. so instead of doing all these random shoes in random like places/set up. i decided for my variable to be a different kind of tennis shoe and that i am going to get up close to my photos so that they kinda make it abstract... and i wanna focus on the details. i think narrowing down my options made my collection more organized ya know?
now the order offf me photos. i know you may think it is a random order. but no...in fact i picked this order because i wanted my strongest pictures to be spread out throught the six.. compared to putting the pictures in like greatest quality to lowest quality. i think som of my photos are like more stronger then the others. although i like all of them its true that i have three that standout compared to the rest. one- i like this picture because it is abstract to the eye and i love how its in focus..and i like the detail in it. the second picture is also about detail... i love the little plastic peice on on the top of the shoe that i really wanted to get in the photo i also love the shoe laces. haha. three- ah one of my favorites. i love this picture because the shoe matches the backround perfectly i also like how in focus it is in like the alligator and also you can see the little holes in the shoe. the shoelaces add something different that we havent seen before! and i love how the shoe is slanted straight up. four- my fourth is a different compared to my other photos, its not as tight. like there is a lot of backround i like this pictures because of the lighting i think it looks really pretty. and also that it's in focus becaus you can read the directions in the back...hah my fifth. this is the picture that i decided to reshoot the first was way not close enough it wasnt tight and it looked stupid. and i went back and shot it and i love it now! my lastttt---- my favorite of all! its so in focused and the pattern of the shoe really makes it. if they were just some plain colored shoe it be way boring but the pattern reallly helps. and i bracketed the crap outta that one and im so so happy that i did!
innnn conclusion... i think these pictures are worthy for summing up my term. the key things i learned aka bracketing, focus, and reshooting skills really paid off without those three componants my photography skills as a whole wouldnt be where they are today...now that i know these though i really would like to improve on some things as well i think i needa get things right the first time. i think thats the main thing i have to work on...because if i actually got this right it would make a world of difference and id have more time because im always doing stuff last minute because of how many times i needed to shoot it. buttttt in alllll i loved this assignment and im gonna miss digital so friggggin much!!!
cant wait for next yearrrr playa

touch up on assignment uno.

-my "something red" even though i cant even tell it is a bright red laptop.

-my doggie

-my left hand

-loaf of bread.
well these where the other pictures missing in action from my scavenger hunt assignment. these are like the total opposite of what im shooting now days. like all these are the polar of what you shouldnt do. like the backrounds suck, they are out of focus, and they arent even interesting. and like this was the first time i ever had experience with my camera. i think when i look at these pictures even though they were like supposted to be an actaul assignment to me the are an example i think that i have grown as a photogapher... they arent good. i dont even know if these are even going to push my grade up and i dont care if they do... i think going back to these pictures make me evaluate myself. end of story....haha

assignment number 5

assignment number five.
reshoot.
this assignment i thought was very helpful.
as you can see my first picture sucked!
it was from my high key low key assignemnt.
i really loved shooting my towels the first time i actually used a different towel shot on my other assignement. but i wanted to give the texture of the towel in my photo and that's what i seem to have captured here. i think this one is a gagillion times better then my first one. my first one was flat not focused and not interesting. this one has the perfect lighting its not flat its way in focused ( you can see the little fuzz on the towel which i thought was way cool) and its more interesting to the eye.
i got up in the towell so where it was a little more abstract i thought it was better that way....
picking a picture to work on during this assignment was kinda hard. i really really wanted to reshoot this picture of my friend when she was like by a mirror since it had all this glare. but when i went to go shoot it and came back with my results they werre a no go. and i didnt want to go back to her because i didnt want to conflict with her schedule since i spend so much time shooting her before. so she was off the list. then i wanted to reshoot the picture of the car but once again i didnt have the car at my house cuz it was my uncles so that was a no go. then i finally decided to pick the towels and i am way happy i did!
i also learned that i love reshooting haha love love love it. it is beneficial to photographer sure its a pain in the butt but it has saved my own butt many times. first time i shot the towels i put too much backround too it and it looked way stupid.
then i went back and fixed it getting in close and it made a world of difference. i know i have reshot so many times this term but they have definately allll paid off!
wellll in conclusion i am way happy about my picture and how it turned out, it was a better picture. i learned continuously this term basically tripod is your bff....so is reshooting.
the end.
ps.... sorry my grammer is so bad on this.
i am not really paying attention to how i speak/spell on the blog.

inspiration?

i am just looking around for photos that inspire me for my final project.
thes pictures are something i would like to try.
the first picture i love because it shows detail in a tennis shoe, and a tennis ball because they were tennis shoes...i would like to add something to my photo of the shoe to add to it.
the second image with the shoes on the floor.i would also like to try that one because it's sinmple and i really love the look of them just chilling on the floor.
the third image with the legs and the shoes. i would love to try that as well because it shows mystery to me...i dont know what the persons expression is or what there story is. although i wonder bout the person it also makes me look straight at the shoes and thats what is imporant.
the last image i put up is the picture of the vibrant nike dunks. i love how you can see every detail about the shoe without even seeing the whole shoe.
i am really excited/nervous to try this out. i want to try everything that was demonstrated above. i know they are kinda like commercial but i like that, as almost if they were an ad. i know these pictures were taken for something like that. but i almost want that effect in my pictures. i think in my pictures i have played with light but in this assignment the final im going to play with it even more.
final project?
shoes shoes shoes.
i am a shoeaholic.
i am doing my final project on shoes.
im going to get close im going to zoom up.
i am going to play with the lighting.
i am going to make it in focus.
im going to shoot different types of shoes.
i am going to watch my backrounds.
end of story.

assignment number fo.

ahh the portrait assignment.
i learned a lot while doing this.
number one- once i mastered that my life is the tripod i thought i was set but i came to this assignment and i figured out i am not. people move. after all the time i put into this assignment i would have really pretty pictures of people and then look deeper into them and notice that they moved a wee bit and ruined the whole picture. so that ruined a lotttttttttt of my images and its just easier to shoot things that do not move!
nubmer two- pick a patient subject. haha my two friends were so great. they stuck with me enough to get their photos done. although they complained i told em to shut up and they did. on the other hand my sister was the opposite. that is why you only see photos of two people. although i woulda loved to put pictures up of my sis she was not patient at alll! even though i shot her twice it didnt matter all the pictures turned out really crappy. if i were to do this again i would pick my third person who i know would be reliable and wouldnt move.
number three- get a plan. i talked about this a ton in my other blog. but i went back and shot all my models again and my pictures were soooooooo much better (except for my sister those didnt change!) but i saw major improvement. i went into it the second time around and did exactly that i wrote and it worked.
analyze- i loved loved loved loved most of my pictures. i thought i captured my friends really well i love the one of karissa knelt down and the one of hillary where her hand is in her hair i think is beautiful. out of the ones i turned in i dont really like the one of hillary by my shutters i think it looks kinda odd, so i would leave that one out. i learned a lot about light on this assignment i think i captured the difference of light and where to place my subjects. i also learned that im scared of backround it can make the photo horrible! i kinda see a trend in this assignment and my other one that i like really simple straight to the point photography and really up close. i think its cool that i can analyze myself in how i take pictures...haha. but all in all this assignment has helped and improved me. and i will take everything ive learned and applied it to my next one!
